About Seoul Table Quest
Seoul Table Quest is a free, quest-style food map of Seoul for travelers, It covers 451 curated local restaurants across 7 neighborhoods. We re-check every spot each week against Google Places for closures and days off.
Why it exists
Restaurant information in Korea barely reaches foreign visitors. Google Maps has thin reviews and no walking or driving navigation in Korea; Naver and Kakao are excellent but effectively Korean-only. So nobody answers the questions travelers actually have. Is there an English menu? Can I eat alone? Can I pay by card?
Seoul Table Quest approaches this as a game: drop in your trip dates, get a day-by-day board of real local spots, check in for pixel stamps as you eat, and share your "conquest map" at the end.
How the data is curated
- The base list comes from broadcast- and YouTube-vetted restaurant lists (for example Sung Si-kyung's food channel), cross-checked to real places.
- Every spot is verified against Google Places; closures are removed automatically every week.
- We collect traveler signals in the app (English menu, solo-friendly, card OK) as multiple choice only. No fake reviews, no free-text spam.
- We never invent data: a spot with no signal reports shows "no reports yet".
Who makes it
Seoul Table Quest is an independent one-person project, built with AI assistance. No restaurant pays to be listed. Contact: seoultablequest@gmail.com.
